ESTHER  BENNETT

Esther Bennett is one of the jazz scene’s most respected and widely loved vocalists, juxtaposing sensitivity with a sparky sense of humour; her song delivery leaving audiences utterly compelled.

Her innate sense of musicality, gleaned from her earlier years of saxophone playing, inform a voice that has individuality, originality and flair

Esther  has carved out a prestigious career as a jazz singer performing extensively in major venues in and around London across the country and in Europe, accompanied by some of the UK’s leading jazz musicians.

Her repertoire includes original material, highly individual interpretations of jazz standards and  popular songs.

CALYPSO MOON with ALEX CLARKE

 

CALYPSO MOON are an all-female jazz band making their mark on the UK jazz scene with their fresh, playful renditions of vintage jazz and swing standards. 

 

The band features the finest talent…

Seasoned jazz vocalist ELEANOR DATTANI has toured extensively with festival heavyweights The Electric Swing Circus, performing at Glastonbury, Bestival and Womad, as well as touring internationally.

Saxophonist ALEX CLARKE is a rising star on the British jazz scene, boasting the accolades of Youth Jazz Musician Finalist 2020 and British Jazz Awards 'Rising Star' 2019.

 

Drummer LYDIA GLANVILLE, has graced stages such as Glastonbury, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, The Barbican and Birmingham Town Hall. She has performed on BBC Radio 6 Music and was featured on The One Show.

 

Bassist AMY COATES recently graduated from the University of Birmingham. She has performed at Birmingham Symphony Hall and Mostly Jazz Festival, and performs regularly with many different acts on the UK jazz scene.

 

Jazz clarinettist and vocalist GIULIA MARRO is currently in her 3rd year at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Giulia has led her own bands around Birmingham and beyond and is highly influenced by gypsy jazz and the swing era.

JAMES OWSTON

James Owston is a Birmingham based double bassist and a highly active member of the UK Jazz scene.

In 2018 James performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as a Finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician Award.

In 2019 James made his debut as a Composer which has led to collaborations with across the UK and America.
